TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain a Residency Certificate in Hua Hin with a Non-O visa, you need to bring a few essential documents. Generally, you should prepare a passport with the entry stamp and valid visa, a TM30 form, copies of your lease agreement (if renting) or house book if you own property, and a few passport-sized photos. Each immigration office may have slightly different requirements, so it can be helpful to check directly with the local immigration office for a complete checklist. Note that the Residency Certificate is often required for opening a bank account or obtaining a driver's license.

Chuck in the bin all what you have seen here, it is rubbish. Idiots.

Now:

You have someone with a "Blue Book" for the property where you are staying or living at?

Wherever it is.

They have to take you to the City Council and report you as a live in person.

You need 2 witnesses who can sign in they know you. That is how you get that Yellow Book used for everything further.

Not have? Go to the agents.

My undestanding is - that visa lets you in for 90 days, open a bank acoount and apply for what the retirement visa is.

Go to the copy shop behind the main immigration in Hua Hin(not Bluport). She will let you know what you need and take care of the copies etc

Passport, Proof of Residence (rental agreement if renting), Visa Certificate (show original initially), 4 x PP colour photos (or have them done at immigration if they have a facility), complete their form and pay 500THB per COR purpose ie. You need separate ones for bank, car and motorbike driving license applications.

As well as everything noted in the previous comments you will need a copy of your lease or copy of the house book and owners ID card

What if the owner is myself, practically, arriving as `NigelMills (the original poster) into my home?

You have no idea how it works.

@Jim ******
I have one in my name and one in my wife's name so have done both ways depending on where we are staying

I have it, the property deed with my name. Where is she staying? With the family in Japan, when in Thai, in that same condo.

Go to immigration in your area you live or go to a district office and ask them.. if your getting conflicting info then go to the source.. or continue receiving bad info.. that’s what you need to do..

Go to immigration and they will give you a checklist of what’s required and you can pick up any forms that need completing whilst there.

Passport, tm-30, passport photo. Residency certificate are type specific so your need separate ones for banking, drivers license(s), vehicle purchase/transfer/registration. RC's are valid for 30 days. I take along my lease agreement too.

Just got my one to change driving licence this morning and was in and out in 10 minutes including taking photos, gotta love low season 🙂

Get a folder and keep multiple copies of all your documents in there together with a few passport size photos. You can then take your passport and the folder with you to immigration every time you attend and you should have everything you need.

I have had passport where tm30 is stapled back page. 500baht sameday. Chonburi

@Pertti ************
but a tm30 is not the same as a residence certificate. A tm30 is you (or rather the landlord) letting immigration know where you stay. And yes done in person they will put a receipt in your passport for you.

A residence certificate, needed for example to open bank accounts, purchase vehicles etc, is immigration verifying your address and giving you a letter stating that it is your address.

@Mikkel ******
yes when I bought new car with finance I did apply residency certificate from immigration with my passport.

Every immigration office has different requirements. Generally you'll need a copy of your TM30, your entry stamp and visa, and whatever else the immigration office might request.

@Brandon ***********
I have seen many valuable advice from you, but what the fcuk is that TM30 is, where do I get that from?
Dean *******
@Jim ******
basically it’s your rental contract or lease of property! It’s where the fuck your staying!
Brandon ************
@Jim ******
Every property owner in Thailand is legally required to report the arrival of a foreigner who will be staying at that location within 24 hours of arrival. This is the TM30. The property owner files it and can provide it to you.
