My first 3 month non O retirement visa has passed the 45 days and is now ready for the 12 month extension. Can anyone advise me please on the papers I need to gather before I make my trip to immigration. I know I need to update my bank book just before I go but do I also need a letter and statement from the bank ? Do I need a map of where I live ? Do I need a copy of my rental contract ? I will be applying in Chiang Mai if that makes any difference. Thanks for your help.

TLDR : Answer Summary
To apply for a 12-month extension of your Non-O retirement visa in Chiang Mai, you'll likely need several documents, including a standard bank letter, a transaction detail report from the bank spanning the last three months, and an updated bank book. A copy of your rental contract is also necessary. While some users have mentioned that a map of your residence isn't typically required, it’s advisable to confirm the exact requirements at your local immigration office to ensure you have everything needed for a successful application.

why don't you go to your local immi and ask for their list regarding the requirements? That will give you your local immi's requirements. The only way to do it

Visit your immigration office and ask for a document stating everything. There is a difference between different immigration offices in Thailand

That is Chiang Mai requirements, I just did my extension last month and followed it to the letter, easy as pie.

i made an appointment online this time, but there aren't too many available. Time before I just showed up, still didn't take very long.

I have been doing my yearly extension in CM for many years. You need a copy of your rental contract. In all these years i never had to show a map of where i live.

This is a general list of what you can be required to have, it is NOT a Chiang Mai specific list..

I would advise you go to the office and get the actual requirements so you can pull it off in one try (not be a document short)

You will need the standard bank letter, at least a 3 month print out of the transaction detail report from the bank and update your bank book the date you apply. In Chiang Mai the bank letter/transaction report can be up to 7 days old.

thanks Tod. Good advice as always. Just another question if you don’t mind. I just realise my passport expires end of Feb 2026. Is there any requirement for the passport validity ?

you're fine, your yearly extension will be a year from the date your current 90 days runs out. So you'll get a year until then.

It's NEXT year you'll have to renew your passport BEFORE you go for a new year extension

or

you'll get stamped in only until the expiration date of the passport and lose the time you'd get on the extension
