What are the requirements for extending a Non-Imm O visa in Thailand, and how do I go about getting the necessary documents?

A retired UK national in Thailand about to do the "Extension of Stay" at Hua Hin Immigration Office having arrived on 90 Day Non-Imm O visa. Was told that I need to have the following but then someone else told me that this is not the correct list -

Must be 50 years old and above - I am.

Passport (signed copies of each page) - is it really signed copies of ALL pages or just the biodata pages?

Non-Immigrant O Visa - assume that this just means a copy of the passport page showing the O visa stamp?

TM30 receipt - this would be the current/last TM 30 receipt?

Proof of meeting Financial Requirements such as bank statement (for income) - would this be the same bank statements that were supplied when applying for the "O" e-visa?

Income Certificate from the embassy in Thailand (applicant’s nationality) - been told that this is not necessary? Is it and if so, why?

Thai Bank Book showing deposit account (original)- does it need to be all pages showing all the transactions on it?

Letter from your Thai Bank (certificate must be signed by the bank official) - to say what? Is a letter/certificate from the bank also needed or not necessary?

Three (3) 4×5 cm photos, with full face taken within the last 6 months. I have.

Proof of permanent accommodation in Thailand such as lease or rental agreement. I have.

Anything else 'missing"?

Multiple Re-entry Permit - can I get this at any airport e.g. Hua Hin?

Thanks all

TLDR : Answer Summary
A retired UK national seeking to extend their Non-Imm O visa at the Hua Hin Immigration Office is confused about the required documents. Key points include needing to be over 50, providing signed passport copies, proof of financial means (including bank statements from a Thai bank), a TM30 receipt, recent photographs, and proof of accommodation. Some requirements, such as an Income Certificate from the UK embassy, are not necessary as the UK does not issue them. For the Multiple Re-entry Permit, it's recommended to apply at immigration rather than at an airport. The conversation provides detailed guidance and clarification on these requirements.

"Multiple Re-entry Permit - can I get this at any airport e.g. Hua Hin?" . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . normally only at international airports (Suvarnabhumi or DMK or U-Tapao or Chiang Mai) Hua hin is not yet an international airport . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . better you buy a re-entry permit on Immigration, as soon as you got the "Extension of Stay" stamped in your passport

Thanks but no thanks.

You cannot get a certificate of earnings from your embassy because the United Kingdom is one of the countries whose embassies do not issue this certificate. Since you meet the requirements for a bank balance in Thailand, this is not necessary.

I’ve this morning received a non O visa issued in London where I showed proof of income …. Are you saying I can not use the same proof of income when I apply for extension?

Correct, because it's done in your country and not issued by an embassy of the UK in Thailand. That's exactly what he asked for. Read: "Income Certificate from the embassy in Thailand (applicant’s nationality) - been told that this is not necessary? Is it and if so, why?"

You need two letters from your bank. One stating the account is yours only, and the second showing your deposit date of the bt800,000 has met the time limit to qualify, two months. These letters can not be older than 7 days. Then you need copy of the data page of your actual bank book, and the page showing the deposit, and a transaction on the day you apply and a copy of the last page showing the current balance on the day you apply. It is good to have copies of every page in your passport so there aren't any they decide you have to go get copies of. They will give them to you to sign, so no need to sign everything before hand. One other detail that might seem small, but it can cause you to go get a new one. Even though it says passport photo within six months, it can not be the one you used for your original 90 day visa. You always have to submit new photos, and they scan what you submitted before and they compare to make sure. I found this out the hard way..lolol. Remember, everything signed in blue pen, not in black.

Just a follow up on the bank letters - account is in joint names and there has been 1,600,000 deposited that has been "seasoned" for the required period. So not sure what the bank will issue re "stating account is in my name only" - will see tomorrow when I go to get it done.

Apply for the multiple re-entry with your visa. You can have zero re-entries, 1 or multiple.

For Passport, you need copies of the data/photo page, entry stamp page and current visa page. You have to sign all copy pages of whatever documentation you provide.

Thai bank passbook. Take the original and yes, it needs all the pages intact!

You will need bank statements and a letter from your thai bank showing you have had the required funds in place for 2 full months before the date you apply for the extension. The bank will know what's required if you tell them it's for immigration.

For the bank book I usually just copy the data page and the last page which must show a transaction on the day you go to apply for the extension

the statements shouldn't be more than 7 days old. Some officers require them to be dated the same day!
