Hi, I am just getting my documents together for an extension of stay based on Thai child, I entered on NON IMM O visa on 5th April. I am looking at the documents required but I am not sure where to get this document.

Could anyone point me in the right direction, many thanks,

Paul.

I went to Roi Et immigration they requested a Kor ror 2 dated within 30 days, I am at Amphur in Phanom Phrai they say it can’t be done! Any ideas what I can tell them or have my wife tell them if it’s in Thai.

Thanks .

I'm confused... how can you get a Kor Ror 2 if you're raising half-Thai children? A Kor Ror 2 is used to confirm that you're still married.

Yes, but we were not married when we had child so they want to confirm we are still married. We only married in April this year.

Honestly, I would skip trying to get a one year extension of stay based on marriage, and get a one year extension of stay based on raising half-Thai children instead. ASK the immigration office for the handout on the requirements for getting a one year extension of stay based on raising half-Thai children.

I am applying for extension based on Thai child, I went with all the requested paperwork, but they seem to have added this one to the list now. The official went away somewhere to talk to someone and added this.

if you got married in thailand in april of this year that was less than 2 months ago so the Kor Ror 2 you have should be fine.

@Paul **********
Did you ask why they want a Kor Ror 2 for that extension of stay?

@Benjamin *****
does seem strange that they are asking for proof of marriage when that isn't the reason he's applying for the extension in the first place.

I finally got the under consideration stamp, the local amphur called immigration to clarify what they wanted and it was all sorted, but still not sure why they needed it, we were just told by immigration that it is a required document.

The under consideration stamp is for 30 days after current stamp expires, is that normal?

Many thanks.

@Paul **********
totally normal, that under consideration stamp is actually the first month of the yearly extension you just applied for, that's why it's tagged on to the end of your current stamp. :)

Just show up on that date with your passport and they'll ink in the year extension. :)

seems that they are asking for either your marriage cert (to the child's mother), or the court papers that granted you custody.
Lloyd ********
as soon as you married the child was legitimized

that’s great news, so hopefully just the birth certificate and marriage certificate/ registration should be enough then.
