I remember seeing a list of required documents for the first 90-day report at the immigration office. My friend visited but was turned away without inquiring about the necessary items. Any assistance in clarifying the requirements would be appreciated.
Answer summary
The discussion revolves around the requirements for the first 90-day reporting process at a Thai immigration office. A user recounts their friend's experience of being turned away without knowing the necessary documents. Several commenters provide insights on the financial considerations related to various visa methods, such as the 800,000 THB or 65,000 THB monthly income requirements. Some affirm that different immigration offices may have varying requirements, particularly regarding proof of income source and bank balance maintenance.

The smart move is keep the 800k, do the 65k per month and try and switch.

Once it's approved do what you want with the 800k.

I have seen the 65k fail more times than you'd believe.

My own perspective, that 800k is my safety net and money already spent.

Chris Nadon best way to look at it pal ,it's my safety net plus my wife's if I snuff it before her ,😁

Just leave the 800k alone to stop Somchai having to work out this date and that date.

Andy Johnston would just rather leave in UK making something, there are 2 of us so actually 1.6m so leaving at home could make £2,000 a year

2 months before your next extension application you should top up your account to 800k just in case something goes Murphy's law wrong with the 65k monthly method. Once the monthly method has been accepted and approved and you have your extension stamp you can drain the 800k.

Wannikea Wanblee asking as I am sure they have accepted on the 65k basis as I would qualify on both

the only sure way they have accepted it will be when you get your extension stamp inked in. By topping up to 800k 2 months before you apply for the extension if plan A goes awry (65k method) you have a bulletproof plan B (800K).

Wannikea Wanblee thanks the issue is that just defers it another year unless I can tell them the method I want to use, I'm happy to leave money in this year as a fail safe

you have to keep the 800k for 3 months after and two months before the next extension once you have the stamp you can do whatever you like with the 800k?for 7 months in between 400k

Gary ***********
Bob D'Andrea yes I have left for 3 months after extension was done, looking forward from here

As long as the 800k was in the account for 3 months from the date you got the extension you can drop down to 400k for the rest of the year. You need to talk to your local immigration office and ask if they will accept the 65k baht per month method, some want to see proof of the source of funds such as them coming from a pension etc, some might just say no to that option. If they won't accept it then you'll need to bring your bank account back up to 800k again 2 months before applying for the next extension

I am. 99% sure that the Chonburi office accept the monthly payments without the need to see the source of the money (many of my friends use the Chonburi office). To be absolutely sure just check as John correctly says.

well, if you mean if you have 60K or over coming in every month(SS for example) use that for verification rather than keeping lump sum? Well, the person who helped me at Insight said they don't do it, so I went regular
