TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has lost a passport containing an extension of stay based on marriage to a Thai wife and received a new passport. There are suggestions in the comments to either start the application for a NON-O visa again or inquire at the immigration office if it's possible to transfer or recover the extension using the new passport.
NON-O RETIREMENT VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES
Go to the Retirement Visa Section for information on requirements, including age restrictions, financial requirements, and necessary documentation.
For immediate assistance, contact Thai Visa Centre directly via LINE at @ThaiVisaCentre or Email them.
Explore recent discussions by using the Non-O Retirement Visa tag in the search box at the top of the page.
Thank you all, trying to get the new non-o visa now but a little confuse with the e-visa system. ๐ ๐

Yep
Happened to me while I was home in Canada for a month - wet passport completely damaged
Got a new one using the expedited process
Visa/extension of stay/re entry permit all void.
Was able to get a new "sticker" for a new visa put into my passport from the Thai embassy (consulate?) in Toronto... Was able to sort it all out but a pretty expensive mistake!

One possibility, you go to the immigration office where your extension was issued with your new passport and letter from your embassy (if you get inside Thailand), detail information from when you applied for your extension to see if they can find the information and re-issue your stamp to your new passport. If you have the photo of stamps from your last extension, it would help a lot.
You may (or may not) need a police report of lost passport.

But he is in France at the moment, so not an option.
