If one can choose to apply for a 1 year extension for Thai wife or Thai child, which one is the better choice? And are there any difference in demands for money or anything else?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When considering a 1-year extension for either a Thai wife or Thai child, it is generally easier to apply based on a Thai child. Extensions for Thai children do not require 'seasoned' banked money, whereas extensions based on marriage do have financial considerations regarding bank balance.

They both go under 30-day consideration before you go back and get the year extension, but extensions based on support of Thai children using banked money do not require seasoning like they do for extensions based on marriage
, extensions of stays at the immigration office based on marriage or raising children are issued for a year at a time (so you wouldn't leave every 90 days, that's only for a visa you get outside of thailand at a consulate). You just do 90 day reporting at the immigration office
What I was saying is; if you are using th 400K baht banked money for the financial requirements for a yearly extension based on raising children at the immigration office there is no requirement the money is seasoned at all. Unlike marriage extensions that require 2 months of seasoning.
