Has anyone not done a TM30 after being in Thailand, I have been here for 5 weeks & leave in 2 weeks, is it necessary still to do one?
Many thanks
Answer summary
In Thailand, the TM30 form is related to your residency reporting, typically filed by your landlord or hotel within 24 hours of your check-in. If you're staying in a hotel, they should handle it for you, but if you're in a private rental, you (or your landlord) must ensure it's submitted. Many expats are unaware of this requirement until they arrive, leading to confusion. Since you're leaving Thailand soon, if you haven't been to immigration for any reason, it's likely you won't be penalized for not completing it, but it’s important to inquire with your host if needed.

You don't. Your host does it. Every time you check-in at a new place, they must take care of it within 24 hours.
I haven't filled any myself, of course, but if they really do one per each stay, there will be hundred and hundreds on my name, as in theory if you stay at a hotel at any city, even for one night, they would file it.
If you're not wanting to stay longer than 60 days it's not a big deal. But in reality they should automatically give you a copy and you keep it in your passport. But many hotels don't. Just ask the day you check in because they can't be back dated. So it could cause some people a problem.
If you’re not going to the immigration for anything, you will most probably not need the TM30. Otherwise ask your landlord or hotel to print one for you.
I am still trying to figure this out. I have to go back to immigration Thursday to do that and my 90 day report. The first time i went was annoying went to 3 buildings an still got no answer
Wolf7247 what do you mean no answer? You just take the documents and the report itself is done in 5 minutes (not counting the queuing line, if any, but there's no people in my city anyways, unlike Bangkok).
i got sent to 3 different buildings an no one gave me a usable answer. The first building said go to the other building that building sent me to the 3 rd building still not clear answer. So i left will try again another day this week . I don’t what more you are looking for.
Wolf7247 You need it for a 90-day report. In Chiang Mai, it does not need to be printed out, but it needs to be in the system. In Jomtien, I had to print it out and hand it in with the TM47 form.
Its supposed to be filled out by your hotel from the Thai side. Unless you are living in a tent or sofa surfing. The residence you rent from should, and legally obliged to. Your TM30 should be addressed as the latest place you formally booked upon entry. You can contact your last hotel for a copy of the form if unsure.
MysticalAsparagus5854 you don't really need to know. It's the host the ones who need to take care of it. If you need a printed version, ask the host and they'll send it. That's how I've always done 🤔
MysticalAsparagus5854 The Thai government isn’t in the business of babysitting foreigners. These are basic pieces of information you should gather before applying and moving to Thailand. This applies to (almost) all visa holders.
if you are staying at hotels, hotels do it for you. It's only when you're in a private residence that the landlord or the agent or yourself has to do it.
It can be an issue as some landlords do not want to do it or do not know how. Do not want to be visible or remote and do not really know about it themselves. If renting make sure it is part of the service your agent offers. If you leave the country and come back it needs updating for many immigration offices.
