My COE was denied for the following reason:

Royal Thai Embassy, Washington, D.C. has rejected your registration/application.

Due to As of right now, the quarantine period is still 14 days. Please wait for further notice announcement or change your ASQ.

Has anyone encounter this? My flight is on April 1st and I’m worried that I won't get my COE by then.

Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user reported that their Certificate of Entry (COE) was denied by the Royal Thai Embassy in Washington, D.C. because they booked a 10-day ASQ (Alternative State Quarantine) while a 14-day quarantine was still required. Various comments provided advice on ensuring COE approval, such as confirming ASQ bookings of 14 or 15 nights. Some users suggested reaching out to the embassy for clarification on ASQ requirements and shared personal experiences about successfully obtaining COEs despite the challenges. Overall, the discussion highlights the importance of adhering to current regulations and possibly adjusting hotel reservations to comply with quarantine requirements.

Any country with a variant is still 16 days 15 nights. It is very frustrating but thats it. We do it or we dont.

Not being funny but coming from USA we really should go in assuming we’ll need the long ASQ and be happy if we don’t. I arrive on the 4th and have the regular ASQ. I was just approved yesterday for my COE. I really don’t see the shorter quarantine for folks coming from the USA. I could be wrong and it would be nice if not.
Paul *******
Wait until AFTER April 1 to submit your application. Done.
Rene *****
@Paul ******
that is, if your planning allows you to wait.
Rene *****
It looks like you upload a hotel confirmation for 11 days only? If you want to make sure you fly by 1 April, then change your ASQ reservation. I too plan to fly on 1 April, but I have not submitted ASQ hotel reservation and flight reservation yet, awaiting news about the reduced quarantine period.

@Rene ****
thank you. If you don’t mind can you keep me updated on your COE? I was thinking of waiting till Friday and see if the updates has been made on the quarantine days.

@Jodyce ****
i just read that the 11 days quarantine period is official now, but only for travellers from select countries. But which they are, I dont know yet. The best thing to do is to regularly check with the Thai embassy if the country where you live, as they are the ones who must approve your COE.
Tony ***********
Pretty sure 10day ASQ is only for approved countries and the list isnt out yet.
Harry ****
this is bad, she booked a 10 day ASQ, but its rejected. amazing, because hotels are offering the 10 day asq now.
Kay ***********
If you book the room for 15 nights. I’m sure they will approve your COE.

In case your flight ticket cannot cancel or change date, best choice is book 15 nights. If any change or reduce to 10 days hotel May refund extra.

no refunds after check in

@Harrison ******
some hotel they do partial refund once quarantine time reduced.

Holiday inn refund another 10K if reduce to 7 days

PS: Even 15nights seems still good price as low as 30k with big promotion

Is the problem that you booked 10 days ASQ?

@Brendan *******
When you submitted your COE was it with a 10 night or 15night ASQ? Sounds like your hotel changed you to 10 but you submitted for 14. Which hotel are you staying at? Id like to find one that is willing to change it if the rules change.

@Wendy ********************
charged for 14 nights originally was then reduced to 10 nights. Submitted 10 nights

@Brendan *******

@Lionel *******
who knows, I’m not holding my breath either way

@Brendan *******
: who can do more can do less...Better to book for 14 days asq
Brendan ********
@Lionel *******
i had mine booked originally for 14 days but they reduced it automatically.
Lionel ********
@Brendan *******
: have you got the same picture on FB and your passport ? Maybe your asq stay was reduced as it is widely accepted that children do not contaminate other people...😁😂

I’d contact them for clarification re “changing your ASQ” and add/cc

thank you. I will send them an email.

That’s crazy. I got my COE from LA and I leave April 1st as well.

I have used DC only once preCOVID and it was a nightmare. Went back to using LA like I had been for the past 6 years.
Harry ****
@Steve ******
did u book a 10 day ASQ?
Steve *******
@Harrison ******
nope, mine was for 14. I booked back in Feb. They contacted me Saturday regarding my upcoming payment in full and explained they would be charging me less due to the 10 days change. I had previously emailed them about this upcoming change due to a flight booking to Ubon post-ASQ that I was about to pay for but didn’t until I knew my check out date.

Everybody need a COE since August 2020. Doesn't matter if you're coming with or without visa, you'll need a COE for people at Bangkok airport to prepare for your arrival.

@Frédéric ****************
COE and visa not the same?
Frédéric ******************
@Shwe *****************
Not at all. COE is certificate of entry. It has been implemented during the covid pandemic to organise with the quarantine on arrival.

@Shwe *****************
certificate of entry.

If you have visa , it doesn’t guarantee you enter Thailand. You will get stopped at checking counter , won’t get ticket.

You need upload (Visa)+ASQ hotel+ insurance + +PCR test+ ticket +.... in order to get COE
