Not sure this site is for coming into Thai only? My question is regarding my Thai partner applying visa for UK.

She previously visited me on s 6 month tourist visa, now we intend to apply for two year tourist visa. Anyone ever been through the same? Any advice appreciated.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster is seeking advice regarding the process for their Thai partner to obtain a two-year tourist visa for the UK after previously visiting on a six-month tourist visa. Comments suggest it is a similar process to the initial visa, but it's important to provide strong justifications for the extended visits, including proof of ties to Thailand and the relationship with the UK partner. Advice includes joining specific forums for detailed guidance, as the original post is primarily aimed at Thai immigration and not intended for advice on visas for other countries.

It's a similar process to the 6 month application. You just have to show a good reason for regular visits. Also remember that a person who holds a two year tourist visa can not stay in the UK for longer than 6 months in one year.

If your partner wants to actually stay in the UK for two years, then she will need to apply for a spouse visa and complete the tests that go with that application.

No worries mate ;)

Weird. It's been a while since I joined. Can't see where it asks for a referrer though. If you go back and see where it does, but 'bifftastic' and see if that works

I actually put my Thai partners name in but maybe it needs an authority or something not sure if you remember?

it says I need a “referrer”?

Visiting you would be the main reason. As with the first visa you applied for, you will need to show good reason to return every time she visits you. Strong ties to Thailand etc etc. Strong relationship with you. As I said, not dissimilar to the one you already got, but I believe they will be looking out for people who try to circumvent the settlement route by getting a longer length tourist visa (they're MUCH cheaper) so all your evidence or explanations will most likely need to be very strong.

Best bet is to jump on the Thailand-UK forum that I posted, as this thread will most likely be shut down soon (not Thai visa related), and that forum is where I got all the advice for our 6 previous UK visas from. Very good people on there.

Good advice thank you. Six months a year is ok as max for now. I guess the only good reasons I can give for two year tourist visa is tourism alone?!?

Ok

The T/V forums aren't bad once you wade thru the MOUNTAINS of b/s :O

BUT

the correct sub-forum he'd want would be the "Visas and migration to other countries" one that's here

Unfortunately you are correct. This page is for advice to get or stay inside Thailand. Not for Thai people who like a visa or what ever needed to stay abroad.
