Hello everybody,

The last time I asked you for the list of papers I had to provide for a 30-day visa extension.

List that you provided to me and I thank you for it.

Copy ID page of your passport

Copy visa page

Copy entry stamp

Copy TM6 Departure card (small white card you got on entry)

1 passport picture

Copy address registration

Application Form (you get at Immigration Office)

1,900 Thb

(for ease a pencil with blue inkt to sign documents).

But someone mentioned that you need the TM30 form,

Now I'm confused because I don't know where to get this paper and is it needed for the 30 day extension?

Copy registration = TM30?

Is the lease contract not enough?

I thank you for your feedback.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the necessity of the TM30 form for a 30-day visa extension in Thailand, as there is confusion about its requirement. They previously received a list of documents needed for the extension but were informed that the TM30 form might also be required. Commenters explain that the TM30 is a notification that must be filed by the landlord or hotel and advise that just a lease contract is insufficient as a substitute. They recommend checking for a TM30 receipt, but clarify that it's commonly not requested for tourism extensions in Bangkok.

As mentioned, TM30 form (notification of foreigners staying the facility) should have submitted by your landlord/hotel/condominium manager and you should have received the receipt.

In case you are asked for a TM30 receipt at the immigration office, you need to show that TM30 receipt. Just a lease contract is not a TM30 alternative. You may need to file TM30 by yourself if you don't have.

In Bangkok, they don't ask you to show TM30 receipt for 30days tourism extension usually, but not 100%. So check your landlord for the receipt first. If they wouldn't, be prepared for self-file.

For self-file in Bangkok.

I arrived in Bangkok for over a month.

Should I have completed the TM30 form when I arrive in Thailand?

yes, you can get a copy from your landlord or from the 90 day reporting office at immigration. Best to get from your landlord as they will remember to file if they aren’t haven’t done so.
