Can I use a hostel for TM30 registration when extending my tourist visa in Thailand?
Hi guys, I am here on Single Entry Tourist Visa (60 days) and will go to Samui Immigration for a 30 day extension soon :) I heard about the TM30, am currently staying with a private landlord so he hasn’t registered me. So I will book a room the day before at a hostel in Samui, then get them to fill out the TM30. Would this work? Also, where can I find the TM30 for the hostel to fill out? Thank you
Answer summary
The user is on a Single Entry Tourist Visa and plans to extend their stay by visiting Samui Immigration. They intend to book a room at a hostel to have the TM30 form filled out, as they are currently staying with a private landlord who hasn't registered their stay. The conversation discusses whether it's acceptable for a private landlord not to report the location and confirms that TM30 is not required for visa extensions at Samui Immigration.

OPSo it’s okay even if I stay at a private property and the owner didn’t report my location to immigration?

Few weeks ago we had reports that this was still correct. Could be changed, but nobody complained that that happened.

OPOkay, are you sure? I saw this page as well but since it’s not the official immigration page, could be outdated

TM30 report is not asked at Samui Immigration for Extension of Stay on Tourist Visa.
