TLDR : Answer Summary
The amnesty for visa extensions in Thailand ended on October 31st. However, travelers who have had their passports stamped until the end of November must follow specific requirements to apply for an additional 60-day extension. If your embassy issues a letter stating you are unable to travel due to COVID-19, you must present that letter when applying. If not, you will need to provide proof that your embassy does not issue such letters, either through an email response or information from the consulate’s website.

The way it works is:

IF your embassy issues an "unable to travel due to covid" letter you need it when you go apply for a 60 day extension <- (that extension is what took the place of the free amnesty ;) )

BUT

IF your embassy doesn't offer the letter you need to either print the email they sent you saying they don't issue the letter OR a screen grab of the consulate website saying they don't issue the letter

okay, but if the passport has been stamped till Nov 30th, do we need another letter from embassy for another extension? Coz I've seen some ppl got till end of Dec after the amnesty ended

If your embassy issues it you NEED another letter. There are no more "free until Dec 30" stamps. :/

I'm sorry for not being clear. I meant after the stamp that was given til end of November. Passpost has been stamped till end of this month

There is no amnesty until Nov 30 :/ Amnesty ran out on Oct 31st and you needed to have applied for an extension of stay BEFORE that date.
