TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about the possibility of paying for a 30-day visa extension in Thailand after initially staying 30 days during the amnesty period. Responses suggest checking with local immigration officers, as the general expectation is that an extension may not be granted. There are specific conditions under which an extension could be allowed, such as having a letter from one's embassy or being unable to travel due to medical reasons, although these cases are reportedly rare.

If you insist on handing in the forms and pay the 1.900 Thb application fee, I do thinks the officer will accept and give the stamp Application not approved.

I would ask your immigration office, but expect them to say no.
I'm attaching a graphic from Thai immigration -read section 1. You *MAY BE* able to get another 30 days *IF* you are given a letter from your embassy saying you can not return, *AND* immigration agrees. You can also stay an additional 30 days if you physically can not travel out of Thailand and are seeing a doctor for treatment (requires a doctors letter, etc. I never heard of anyone getting another 30 days though using that method).
