Hi there! From January onwards I will be studying in Bangkok until June. My girlfriend will be traveling with me and plans to apply for a METV. I've got a couple of questions regarding the application:
1. A bank statement is required with a mininum balance of 20.000THB, does this mean that she needs to present a statement from the six previous months (so six statements) with on every statement a minimal amount of 20.000THB? Or do they accept it as long as she has the amount on her account when applying?
2. Correct me if I am wrong: she needs to leave the country every sixty days to get a renewal of another sixty days? What happens when she already leaves after 30 days and comes back?
We will be applying at the consulate in The Hague.
Thank you very much.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the METV application process for their girlfriend, specifically about the bank statement requirement and the rules for exiting and re-entering Thailand. Comments clarify that she needs to provide six months' bank statements verifying a minimum balance of 20,000 THB at all times. Additionally, the METV allows unlimited entries, each valid for 60 days, which can be extended by leaving and re-entering or by applying for a 30-day extension at an immigration office.
Teun Van de Goor you got the requirements wrong for the 6 month METV
BUT
the way that visa works is it's unlimited entry for the validity of the visa (6 months from the date it's issued). Every entry is good for 60 days. When that 60 days runs out, she exits/re-enters the country to get a new 60 day stamp OR she goes to the immigration office and applies for a 30 day extension (which you can do ONCE per entry).
