I want to apply for a residence certificate. Someone posted an excellent guide recently but although I have searched I cannot find it. I live with my partner at her house and my TM 30 is for that address. I am on the non-immigrant O visa for retirement.

TLDR : Answer Summary
To apply for a residence certificate in Thailand while on a Non-Immigrant O visa for retirement, you generally need your passport, TM30 form, and may require additional documentation such as passport photographs, copies of your partner's ID, and proof of cohabitation. Experiences vary between immigration offices regarding requirements and fees, so it's essential to consult the local office for specifics. Typically, a residence certificate is valid for 30 days and can be used for various purposes like opening a bank account or registering vehicles.

Would it be better to go for the house book and pink I’d card? In my case I will be on on married visa and we are looking to start a small company that combines our current work and interests even though I am well past 50 and I can support our lifestyle by investing outside Thailand.
You cannot use one Residence Certificate multiple times so if you need more than one complete the application form accordingly and have copies of passport, TM30 etc for each application
It can vary slightly by immigration office, usually just your passport and TM30 but some also require a photo or two, plus of course the application form
