TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain a certificate of residency in Thailand for opening a bank account, you need to go to the immigration office. Bring your passport, passport photos, copies of your passport pages, and possibly a TM-30 receipt. You will fill out the TM-16 form provided at immigration. The certificate may cost 500 THB for immediate processing or be free if you wait for a week. Make sure to also have your visa and rental agreement handy, as these might be required.
NON-O RETIREMENT VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES
Go to the Retirement Visa Section for information on requirements, including age restrictions, financial requirements, and necessary documentation.
For immediate assistance, contact Thai Visa Centre directly via LINE at @ThaiVisaCentre or Email them.
Explore recent discussions by using the Non-O Retirement Visa tag in the search box at the top of the page.
Copy of Visa, Copy of Rental Agreement, copy of TM 30 may be useful too but not essential if you have a signed rental agreement, Passport, 4 Passport Photos (can get at kiosk by immigration), 500THB per certificate of residence, TM16 will be given to you at immigration to fill out.

Can you please anyone update me how to file pnd 1 online
I think what Tony says, is the best way. My last one was completely different from the two before. Should you need it for opening a bank account, they put that text in it. At least at Korat imm. The last one I needed, 3 months ago, was for my 5 year drivers licence. It was 500฿ if you want it on the spot and free if you could wait for a week or so.
I dont own a property I will be staying with my wife family also do I need to have my name in the house book so is it still a tm30 or a tm 16 I will be doing this is Korat and can I download the forms and fill them in before I leave any further advice is much appreciated as I will only be in the karat/khon buri area for 1 week I dont mind paying for the express service...also to get a Thai driving licence can I convert my uk to Thai licence or do I have to do a theory test
thanks i have read on YouTube an hopefully I can do the immigration /thai driving licence and bank in 3 days as we were recommended to have it done locally to Khon buri and the is koran for immigration and driving licence the bank I can do in Khon buri
good luck. I’d suggest seeing if you can do the yellow housebook first. When I tried to open an account with both Kasikorn and Siam Bank both wanted yellow book. That was in the Phitsanulok/Phetchabun area. As you’ll get told every place is different. If you’re on a Non O marriage that’s should be easy to get bank account without Yellow book though. In the end I had to go to Krungthai. Some banks will have an issue with your initial visa only being 90 days. As you’ll soon find each branch may interpret the rules differently and ask for extra documentation
If all your ducks are lined up it should only take two days and a lot of patience haha. In nearly all places the staff are very very helpful.
to get a driving licence is really easy. Once here and registered at your wife’s go to immigration and get a certificate of residence. If you want one for car and motorcycle you’ll need a separate letter for each licence.
You’ll need to do some only driver training online. It’s an hour ,one and very simple. You’ll also need
1. Copy of U.K. licence original and photocopy
2. Passport photograph
3. Medical certificate from local medical centre.
Take all that to the nearest Department of Land Transport (DLT) office. You’ll do a couple of reaction tests. Again very simple. Then hey presto you’ll get your licence.
