TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a Non-O visa, you need to provide proof of residency documentation. For initial applications, you can use a utility bill or driver's license as proof of residence when applying through the Thai Embassy in your home country. For renewals, a TM30 registration is required. If applying for a Retirement Visa (Non-O), you’ll need a rental contract of 3-6 months and sufficient funds in a Thai bank account unless married to a Thai national. It's also important to keep additional documents like a passport stamp or boarding pass as proof of your current location.

Thus, it's a good idea to keep your boarding pass 😉
