Do I need to obtain a new residence certificate after moving with a non-O retirement visa in Chiang Mai?

Hello, new to this group.

I’m on a non-O retirement visa. I just moved to a new place, and did the 90 day report with the new TM 30. So far so good.

But someone told me I’m also required to get a new residence certificate, for the new address. Is that true?

TLDR : Answer Summary
After moving to a new address while on a non-O retirement visa in Chiang Mai, you are required to perform a 90-day report and file a TM 30 form to notify immigration of your new address. However, the need for a new residence certificate may vary, as some areas like Phuket require a TM 28 form instead. It's advisable to confirm the requirements specific to your local immigration office.

You might be confusing a “residency certificate” with the official notice of moving address - the TM28. Some offices like Phuket require this form. It’s not a certificate just notifying immigration that you’ve moved.

different offices require different things. They all have different rules. Just to try and keep us on our toes.

thanks. I asked about the TM28 also, but no one in Chiang Mai seems to know about it.
