TLDR : Answer Summary
You can typically extend your 60-day visa for an additional 30 days at an immigration office about 7 to 30 days before it expires. The specific timing may vary depending on the office, with some offices allowing applications when you have 45 days or less left, and others restricting it to the last 7 days. It is advised not to wait until the last day to avoid complications, and make sure to have necessary documents like the TM30 form.

You can go to the immigration office to extend your 60-day visa for another 30 days about 7 days before it expires. It’s important not to leave it until the last day to avoid issues.

Make sure to bring a tm30 they refused to deal with me in chiang mai until I had a tm30 (which is a little document of wherever your staying keeps log of you staying there)

Yes. lol

10 or 7 doesn’t matter. Just keep in mind that Thai govt holidays pop up out of nowhere.

So have you got a free 60-day visa-exempt entry or a 60-day tourist(TR) Visa? I suspect it is the former so please stop calling it a visa as this only confuses ppl.

you only need 30 days extension if you don't want to leave the country. When you leave and get back in you get a new 60 days.

You have a Multi Entry Tourist Visa METV It is valid for 6 months but you can get nearly 9 months if you time the last entry correctly. Every time you enter Thailand within the 6 months validity you will get 60 days permission to stay which can be extended by a further 30 days at a cost of 1900 baht. Others have already stated when the extension can be applied for. At the end of the 90 days, you have to leave Thailand but can immediately return for another 60 days and so on. The 6 month validity started the day you arrived in Thailand.

you are correct in the beginning of your comment, but you've got the last part wrong. The visa is valid 6 month from the date it was issued (not 6 month from when he entered Thailand). The dates are clearly stated on the visa, in the OP's case it is valid until March 29.

yes, you are correct. It is the SETV that is activated on entry and you have 90 days to do that.

you have a 60 day multiple entry tourist visa that is valid for 6 months but you can only stay a maximum of 60 days at a time ,you can leave Thailand as many times as you want in the 6 months that the visa is valid for and get 60 days on returning to Thailand so no need to do a 30 day extension .

I had this visa when I came in April this year ,you can also get 60days on the last day your visa is valid for to get 8 months from the visa, you can then either get a 30 day extension or do a boarder run and get a 60 day exemptions then extend it by 30 days giving you 9 months in total.

If you are going to get another 60 days just before the tourist visa runs out I wouldn't leave it to the last day I would do a boarder run about 1 week before the tourist visa runs out.

Please mention re-entry permit & multiple visa boards, absolutely misguided free visa

Most Immigration Offices you can extend when your down to 30 days but a few including Jomtien and Samui you cannot extend until your final 7 days

Some offices like Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Phuket let you apply when you have 45 days or less left.

Most offices let you apply when you have 30 days or less left.

A few offices like Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Pattaya only let you apply during your last week.
