Hello there,

I went through the page first in order avoid asking the same question, but couldn’t find one.

Here it goes:

I entered the kingdom recently on the 15days

“visa on arrival” which expires on 27th this month and came to know about the 7 days extension.

I would like to know how does this extension work and related to it.

Looking forward for the insights, Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks clarification on the process for extending their 15-day visa on arrival in Thailand, mentioning they are interested in the 7-day extension. The comments indicate that the 7-day extension is an "application for extension not approved" stamp, providing 7 days to leave the country. They are advised to check with their local immigration office regarding possible extensions, including a potential 60-day Covid extension.

As Tod says, go to your local immigration office and try to apply for Covid extension.

If it’s approved, you’ll get 60days (might be starting with under consideration stamp)

If it’s rejected, they will give you application-not-approved-7days-to-leave stamp.

Either way, the stamp most likely would start on the day of application.

You MIGHT <- as in may be able to apply for a 60 day covid extension but again you'd have to check with your immigration office to see if they will let you do that.

It's actually not an extension but an "application for extension not approve" stamp that gives you 7 days to leave the country. Most offices will start it the date you go in to apply for it, rather than add it to your current expiration date,

Check with your immigration office to see how they do it

for taking time to reply.

I hope you guys don’t mind me asking additional questions.

My visa expires on 27th this month so additional 7 days will be just about prefect for me.

How do I go about because the covid insurance with which I entered expires on 27th too.

What are the documents required and how likely the “application for extension not approved” stamp will be approved as accordingly I have to plan my return flight and accommodation.

Much appreciate and looking for the knowledgeable insight.

, No insurance is needed for that 7days. Go to the immigration office bringing your passport and TM6 (departure card), then apply for a tourism extension, covid extension, or whatever reason. It's the application that is intended to be declined, any reason without meeting requirements would work. If the officer says they don't accept, tell them you need that 7days to leave.
