Hi if I enter Thailand on Visa exemption scheme (Australian) can I apply for a 60 day tourist visit within Thailand? Or can I apply for TR 60 from Vietnam?

Currently on STV and once expired will leave county for short period and return.

I know I can extend visa exemption by 30 days giving me 60 days in total however would prefer 90 days. Cheers

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires whether they can apply for a 60-day tourist visa while in Thailand on a visa exemption as an Australian citizen, or if they can apply for it from Vietnam instead. They currently hold an STV visa and are seeking options for an extended stay beyond the typical 60 days allowed by the visa exemption plus extension.

I would recommend this travel agency that can help you do your visa at thai embassy in Laos. They are reliable and will assist you throughout the process with reasonable price.

You can't apply for or use a tourist visa while you're inside of Thailand.

But you can apply at the consulate at a neighboring country.
