Hello everyone,

Im currently in Thailand and looking to extend my visa. (I already have 1 stamp on arrival and 30 day extension). Can I please have some advice and recommendations on the best way to receive a 60 travel visa from outside Thailand. I heard I will have to travel to Laos for this. Is that accurate? If so is anyone familiar with this process? Has anyone done this successfully? What will I need? Can anyone please provide a basic guide or outline on getting a 60 day travel visa for Thailand from Laos. I am a American(that info may help). Or can a 60 day travel visa also be obtained from Cambodia/Miramar?

TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain a 60-day tourist visa for Thailand from outside the country, particularly from Laos, you can visit any Thai embassy or consulate. It requires basic documents like your passport, a photo, and sufficient funds. Some consulates may also ask for proof of onward travel and accommodation arrangements. Additionally, you can apply from Cambodia or Myanmar; however, specific requirements may vary, so it's best to check beforehand.

, other than the thai consulate in Vientiane Lao, the other thai consulates in neighboring countries require some or all of the 3-proof-ofz;

proof of 20K baht (or the equivalent) in a bank account.

proof of onward travel

proof of a hotel booking or confirmed lodging

Check the requirements at the thai consulate where you're going to go to get your tourist visa.

60 days is a tourist visa, that you can extend for another 30 days = 90 days. You can do that in cambodia, laos or penang. Just need passport, and money and a photo.

Apart from the consulate in Vientiane, Laos, you'll also need proof of an address in Thailand and proof of onward travel. It can be done at any Thai consulate with the required documentation, not just the ones you mentioned

You can buy a 60 day Tourist Visa at any Thai Embassy or Consulate.
