Updates!๐Ÿ™ We called the consulate of Bali (finally answering) , and its seems as all we need to do is to Legalize and perhaps translate the certificates...but in Jakarta embassy.๐Ÿ‘Œ

Hi guys,

So I heard certain of people are now allowed to enter into Thailand. One of the categories of people who can enter is โ€œ Non-Thai nationals who are a spouse, parents, or children of a Thai national.โ€

We are in Bali now but are trying to enter to Thailand ( Koh Samui). Our problem is, I am holding a Thai passport BUT in that passport I havent change my maiden name to my married name. And I havenโ€™t announced to the Thai government that I have a daughter with my Swiss husband.

We have tried to contact the embassies but so far nobody have answered back.

Anyone who know how difficult and how long it would take to change my passport?

I have the birth and marriage Swiss certificate with us. Perhaps theres other way?

TIA

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Thai national is trying to enter Thailand from Bali but faces challenges due to not having updated her passport with her married name and the birth of her daughter. The family must gain permission from the embassy given the current entry requirements, which include legalizing and possibly translating their documents. Several commenters suggest contacting the embassy in Jakarta for guidance and inform that upon returning, she needs to register her marriage and family name change in Thailand.

Once you get back to Thailand you will need to register your marriage at the Amphoe in the area where you are still registered in the Tabian Baan. Will need all documents translated into Thai, and validated with MFA,. Amphoe will register your family name change to that of your husband and issue a certificate. Then Go to Office that issues ID cards to get a replacement ID card in your newly registered name. Then to Passports office with new ID card, and you will get a new Thai passport nin your new name also.

Even you would have a problem. Yes, the border is open for repatriating Thais, but that does not mean they can come as they choose. Repatriating also goes in coordination with the Ministry of foreign affairs by using their Embassies.

Only thing you can do in contact the Embassy in Jakarta, register and ask if it is possible.

You need to contact Royal Thai Embassy or Royal Thai Consulate-General, not Royal Thai Honorary Consulates for returning Thailand matters..

Yes, for me no problem. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the information needed and the Certificate of Entry is only given at the Embassy.

your family will need to gain permission from the embassy anyway, until they go through the process with them and gain permission to enter only you would be allowed in.

Sorry, I don't see what your problem is? You have a Thai passport = you are allowed back to Thailand.

You would have no problem getting in, but I understand your husband and daughter would have to apply for a COE from the embassy there
