TLDR : Answer Summary
The Covid-19 briefing on June 19th highlighted that foreigners holding work permits and those with family in Thailand should coordinate with their embassies for re-entry into the country. Specific procedures for foreigners married to Thai nationals were discussed, emphasizing that the application to enter Thailand is case-by-case and must be processed at the Thai consulate in their respective locations.

And seeing as this is going WAY off topic.

The government stated that foreigners married to thais who are stuck outside the country can now apply for permission to get back in based on that marriage. Contact the consulate in the country you're in to see how you do it, and what is required. Good Luck, we're done.

I am assuming that if these are required to enter then when I do a border run these are the documents they want to see

@Marc *********
, I believe you are way off base.

This is for foreigners married to thais to apply to get back IN to the country based on their marriage.

It is not for foreigners already IN thailand to use to try to bounce out and back to get another 90 day entry on a year-long, multi-entry Non-O visa.
Marcus **********
Don't ask about funds Cus I don't have them.
Tod *********
@Marc *********
okay, it's NOT for you to border bounce, let's get that out of the way. :O :(

IF you're in thailand now, you take the amnesty and wait it out like everyone else,

you're not gonna get permission to bounce out and back to get a 90 day stamp :(

@Marc *********
and why would you want to do a border bounce?
Marcus **********
@Benjamin *****
because I have multiple entry marriage visa from Laos. In out every three months.
Benjamin ******
@Marc *********
ok . I do to... At the end of the 90 day stamp you'll go on amnesty, and can stay no longer than July 31
Joe ******
Is this only for married people who reside in Thailand?
Joe ******
Thanks for clearing that up mate 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Joe ******
Yes mate i have, so what i gather ANY foreigner married can apply to come back not just ones who reside there?
Tod *********
@Joe *****
right, that is correct, contact the thai consulate in the country you're in now and ask them to apply to come here
Benjamin ******
@Joe *****
how can people reside in Thailand on a Non-immigrant visa? Non-immigrants are people who aren't residents.
Tod *********
it is for foreigners married to thais who got stuck out of the country when it closed and who want to come back to thailand..
Joe ******
@Tod ********
regardless of visa?
Benjamin ******
@Joe *****
you have to be out of Thailand to request permission to enter Thailand
Joe ******
Yes im currently in scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
Benjamin ******
@Joe *****
then go to 10:12 of the video and watch it
Joe ******
@Benjamin *****
sorry that not what I’m getting at, I’m wondering if its only people who have PR that can i apply to comeback. I don’t have any visa just now.
Tod *********
@Joe *****
PR is totally different and has nothing to do with the group of people they are letting apply for permission to get back into thailand. RIght now you either hold a valid work permit, OR you are married to a thai, that's it, <- those are the ONLY two categories of people they're letting apply for permission to come back at this tim e
Joe ******
I don’t have PR and no visa at this time, will be trying to gain entry threw Non O visa 🤔
Marcus **********
So any idea where I get this letter of permission within Thailand?
Tod *********
this is the procedure to request permission to enter.. It's everything except the work pemit :O and you'd use the marriage certificate instead
Tod *********
WTF? :O You have to be OUT of thailand to request it as it lets you come back in.. You apply for it at the thai consulate in the country you're in THEY forward your application for entry to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and then it's approved or declined and if it's approved they send the Certificate of Entry to the thai consulate that submitted your application.
Tod *********
For foreigners who are married to thais and want to hear about the process for REQUESTING to enter the country, go to 10:12 on the broadcast. Note I put requesting in caps because it is a case by case basis and you apply at the thai consulate in the country you're in.
