TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion centers around obtaining medical insurance in Thailand, specifically Pacific Cross. Several users share their experiences, highlighting issues with claims and customer service, including frustrating delays and denials. Some recommend looking into other providers like AXA, Wrlife, or Allianz, with positive mentions of German health insurance options. There's a consensus that while Pacific Cross offers decent plans, many have faced challenges during the claims process, prompting suggestions to consider alternative insurers for better coverage and customer support.

I purchased pacific cross covid entry policy specifically to be covered for 14 day quarantine,on the 13th day I tested positive and was told the policy doesn’t cover me for the first 14 days of quarantine.Claim denied February 2021.

Whatever you do don’t buy from pacific cross, they’re terrible at paying on claims.

I can recommend

, they’re probably the best insurance broker in the region and can offer a lot of different packages. Their staff are really helpful and explained all the options etc.

Have people had experience with Wrlife in getting claims paid? Their online sign up process seems unusually simple.

I would be interested to know if wrlife is a real company as I called the two phone numbers listed and both are non existing numbers, I also went to their website and it was not a owned website just parked by GoDaddy and I could buy it of very cheap price. No company parks a business they would own the domain

I got this one too. The broker told me it was a rather new player in the field, but I decided to take it anyway. I only know one real story on a Dutch Forum, but seems to be okay.

Claim:

As mentioned before, I exchanged April for WR Life since April 1 this year via AA insurance... Last Tuesday night I became very unwell and was transported to the BPH (Bangkok Pattaya Hospital) in an ambulance without knowledge... I am extremely satisfied with their treatment and dedication. I came home again this afternoon and 2 hours after my discharge the invoice was fully paid by WR Life... Class!

Do not go with Pacific Cross if you do not want the headaches. Especially stay away from the Pattaya office ran by a KIWI as that POS can GFH! I will be looking for another health insurance company soon.

they have different levels of max payment over the course of the year depending on how much you pay. Contact them for details specific to your needs. That's the best I can tell you.

I think they are probably all the same in essence, but with Pacific Cross they made you feel like a criminal for having cancer, they tried to blame it on smoking which I never had, then drinking and finally a STD, took over 4 months of investigation by them to finally pay for the treatment, after I paid 1.2 million baht from my own pocket first, unbelievable.

I'm struggling with WRLife. When you buy the, very expensive (because I am 75) policy, they keep telling me "not covered".

You will get good and bad reviews.

The plans of Pacific Cross are decent. If possible, I would recommend to get at least the Maxima Plus plan. Better to go for Ultima or Ultima Plus. The outpatient coverage of PC is pretty good and affordable compared to other insurers. They also guarantee lifelong renewals.

They have a premium system where they give no-claim discounts. However, in case of a claim that discount will be cancelled and depending on the claim amount and total premium payment they might load the premium with up to 25%. This is just something to be aware of.

In the event of a claim, they are not the easiest to deal with, but overall they will pay if the claim is justified - sometimes after some back and forth.

Depending on your age and budget, I might be able to offer you better solutions.

Do not use Pacific Cross I have been with them for years and this year I had tongue cancer, needed a operation to remove the tumor then radiation treatment, had nothing but problems with them. Didn’t want to pay, so I had to pay up front then try to claim back. They were saying my cancer was from a STD 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ anyway after another 4 months of them taking my sample to many hospitals for testing and me threatening legal action, they reluctantly paid up.

The whole thing was very stressful indeed, they wouldn’t return emails or calls either. There must be better options out there, please have a good look around.

Had a policy for one year. Everything look good on paper before I got the application.

Any and all information about preconditioning conditions will likely be excluded from your policy with these guys for a few to several years. This includes any test you may have had that came out negative or you no longer have conditions.

Customer service will not be your agent. Once you buy the policy you'll probably never hear from your agent again.

I will say that a big positive was that they offer plans that also provide up to 90 days coverage for trips outside Thailand

I had a question regarding my Pacific Cross policy and emailed my agent - he responded. I only purchased my coverage for emergency use (ie. motorbike accident, sudden health emergency) so hopefully I'll never need to find out how it is. 🙃
