What do expatriates think about using Pacific Cross insurance for the OA visa in Thailand?

Has anyone used pacific cross for the insurance provider , looking at the Maxima plan . Applying for an OA visa I'm from the USA. Any thoughts ? I do have a pre-existing condition but take no medication , use diet and exercise to help to alleviate symptoms.

I don't know if I should let the insurance company know about pre-existing condition when filling out paperwork for any kind of Thai health insurance when applying? Thanks for any feedback from their experience with this or anything might be related to this topic.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post queries about experiences with Pacific Cross insurance, specifically the Maxima plan, while applying for an OA visa from the USA. The user is concerned about disclosing a pre-existing condition on the insurance application. Responses share varied opinions, highlighting that many opt for insurance primarily just to meet visa requirements. Some users recommend other providers like LMG for lower premiums or mention a lack of coverage for pre-existing conditions with Pacific Cross. It is also cautioned against not disclosing any health issues due to future claims potentially being denied.

PC denied coverage to me for having a very minor, common, well-controlled pre-existing condition that could never result in an in-patient hospitalization. Waste of time applying with them unless you've never been sick, IMO.

I have to agree. There were so many exclusions on my policy that it was almost worthless. Pre-existing condition not covered - fair enough, but no cover for possible prostate diseases (I had no history of any) and a 10% loading for being overweight. I had a colonoscopy for preventative purposes - no polyps - PC excluded any digestive system problems. Plus a medical required. Customer service also lacking - they sent me someone else’s policy, amongst other mistakes.

Falcon is good and they don’t require a medical. Depending on your age, Pacific Cross may require a full medical.

One thing I don't understand. How come the immigration accept an insurance with a high deductible amount? Isn't the insurance supposed to pay health expenses from 1 to 400,000 baht?

I have made it: LMG only for the certificate and a good insurance (April international health).

Can't lie to them if you need to use it they'll find out

Most people who get insurance for the O-A visa are doing it just to 'tick the box' showing you have the health coverage required. <-meaning you get it with the highest deductible you can get to get the cost down.

I think LMG has the lowest premium of the 15 approved thai insurance companies that offer O-A insurance and if you get it with a 200K baht deductible it gets the premium down to a manageable level

hi i know O visa does not need mandatory health insurance, but how to change to O from OA?

Basically you're buying that policy as a 'throw away' only to meet the requirements and then IF you want to carry health insurance here (always a good idea) you buy a different one.
