I entered Phuket sandbox visa exempt in July (45 days). Yesterday I was given a 60 day covid extension at Phuket Immigration.

no.. Only one 30 days extension entering visa exempt or with tourist visa.

as Michael said no, but currently they are selling Covid extensions of 60 days for 1,900 baht. The option to apply for this is at the discretion of the immigration officer you apply to and currently the last date you can apply is 27th September. Although this date is widely expected to change there is no guarantee it will.

Sorry, but you are confusing two separate things.

The Visa Exempt entry has nothing specifically to do with the Sandbox, it’s a general thing. You can extend your stay by a further 30 days at immigration in Thailand.

Currently, the 45 days on entry instead of the usual 30 is meant to last until the end of September. However, given there’s no chance of quarantine ending, it’s very likely to continue to be 45 days for quite some time.

They'd probably do so if western countries allowed Thai nationals to visit without a visa as well.

The OP might be asking about whether the 45 days currently granted for a visa-exempt entry might revert back to only 30 days. I don't know the answer to that question and certainly have not heard anything in the news about that.

if so it’s currently scheduled to revert back at the end of September. Whether it will or not we probably won’t know until around then.
