A friend is arriving in Thailand hoping to go with the visa exempt entry. As of now I heard this is still okay to enter for 30 days and then extend for another 30 days at immigration.

Is there any sort of policy change since the Nov 1 updates?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A friend with a French passport can enter Thailand via the visa exempt entry for 30 days, with the possibility of extending for another 30 days at a local immigration office. There have been no policy changes reported since the updates on November 1, 2021, regarding visa procedures for France. However, the ability to extend depends on the specific entry conditions associated with their passport.

France is a visa exempt country. Your friend can enter on a 30 day visa exempt, extendable ONCE for another 30 days at the local immigration office.

Right just get Email from Thai Embassy the confirmation 30 day after 30 day extension in Thailand, I'm Austrian

No, read what my information was, Thai Embassy are for VISA, not GOVERNMENT OK , your VISA exempt list is dated May 2019, if you read this carefully you will see which country can obtain for 30 day's VISA, at the moment, last information 27 EU Member country, anyway since 1.11.2021 changed some godmay, from about 20.11.2021 Thailand ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ญ will start E-Visa online systems

I just rechecked from:

*********************************************************

France is listed as a visa exempt country.

>visa on arrival wasn't a VISA

Visa on arrivals are visas.

> last information 27 EU Member country,

Croatia is a member of the EU and they do not qualify for a visa exempt.

> E-Visa online systems

The Thailand eVisa system is the system to request a visa, which is separate from the type of visas (visa exempt, visa on arrival, tourist visa...)

So what are you talking about with France not being able to get a visa exempt? I'm very confused.

People holding France Passports never got visa on arrivals. They get 30 day visa exempts (unless you can give proof otherwise).

visa on arrival wasn't a VISA, at the moment EU Member can obtain VISA for Thailand at concerning Thai Embassy

1. The Thai Government does not issue visas based if a passport holder is from an EU counter.

2. Do you have any proof that someone from France can not get a 30 day visa exempt (see below for the visa exempt list - I believe it's the current list)

That depends on what country passport your friend enters Thailand on.

If he/she can enter on a visa exemption scheme, she can apply for a 30days tourism extension once.

If he/she has to enter Thailand on a bilateral agreement, a 30days tourism extension is not available.

It all depends on the country of origin of your friends passport.

It could be a 15 day Visa on Arrival, 30 day Visa Exempt Entry or an entry on bilateral agreement. Some given stays can be extended, others can not.

Please give the most important detail if you have visa questions.

he can use the 30 Visa Exempt Entry and extend that once with another 30 days based on tourism if he use his France passport.

Next to this he need a Thailand pass.

@Robert ******
so you need a Thailand pass even if exempt entry?

@Ann ****
Yes, everybody needs a Thailand pass to enter Thailand. This pass has nothing to do with visa, but something with an international virus.
