TLDR : Answer Summary
If you are currently in Thailand on a 30-day tourist visa, you can only extend it for 30 days at a local Immigration Office. To stay longer than that (90 days in total), you will need to leave Thailand and re-enter with a new visa exempt entry stamp or apply for a different type of visa like the NON-O if you have Thai family or meet certain conditions (like being over 50 for retirement). It's noted that applying for a 60-day tourist visa before arriving in Thailand could have been a better option.

Unless you have Thai family (wife or child) you cannot stay 90 days without leaving to re-enter with a new 30 day Visa Exempt (NOT Visa) entry stamp. Either of these entries can be extended for 30 days for 1900B at your local Immigration Office to get you your 90 days in total.

You can only get one extension of 30 days off a 30 day visa exempt entry. Then you have to leave and reenter to get a new 30 day exemption
hello Stuart , I am came with the 30 days exempt and now I went abroad will return with the 60 days tourist visa . An I then extend another 30 days as BKK laksi office . Or do I have to travel abroad ?
You can get an extension off a tourist visa, but in Bangkok you do that at the main government complex at Chaengwattana not at Laksi. That’s for visa exempt entries.
