Quick question. Does anyone know for sure if you can go to the immigration office and make a 30 day extension on top of the e-visa exempt entry of 30 days (so 60 days total)? I am getting a lot of mixed information about this...thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, you can extend your 30-day visa exempt entry for an additional 30 days at the immigration office for a fee of 1,900 baht. However, this extension can only be done once.

If you arrived on a 30 day visa exempt, you can get a extension for another 30 days for 1,900 baht, but you can only do it once.

Thanks for the confirmation. The strange rumors are coming directly from the Thai Embassy in Kathmandu (where I live)...

IMPORTANT REMINDER: Never ever trust what a Thai embassy website says about getting an extension of stay, and never trust what an immigration office says about getting a visa outside the country. They are overseen by two completely different agencies who do not communicate with each other.

Well I'm glad for your confirmation...yea the embassy people in Nepal are telling me 100% that I can't extend a 30-day visa exempt...I can only extend a proper 60-day tourist visa...so I'm not sure why they're telling me that if it's not the case...
