What’s the current situation on non b visa in Penang. What’s the current requirements to get a multiple one year visa? Last time I checked it was necessary to hold 20% ownership in the company. After that I heard they only gave one year to directors (even non shareholders)... what is it like now? Any other consulate gives one year to normal new employees?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The current situation in Penang regarding the Non-B visa indicates that only directors or owners of a company can obtain a one-year Non-Immigrant B visa. Other Thai Embassies and Consulates in the area mainly issue a three-month Single Entry Non-Immigrant B visa, which allows an individual to stay for 90 days, with the option to apply for a one-year Extension of Stay after 60 days at the local Immigration office. Additionally, obtaining the twelve-month visa can typically be facilitated through a home country application or via a visa agency.

Only way to get 12 month is to either do it in your home country or use a visa agency in your home country & send passport
