Hi dears, could anybody confirm, please? Does Penang give multi 1year Non-B? I've recently heard, they started giving 3months only, but i can not prove.

I'm going to get my next 1year Non-B for 3d time, WP just renewed, valid till Feb'19

Also, can I get it with no hussle in Vientiane, Laos?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The query seeks confirmation on the availability of a 1-year Non-B visa in Penang, with rumors suggesting that only 3-month visas are now issued. The user is also inquiring about the possibility of obtaining this visa without complications in Vientiane, Laos. Community responses indicate that currently, a 1-year Non-B visa is primarily obtainable for directors and shareholders, with discussions around its availability and procedural ease in locations such as Kota Bharu and Vientiane.

Have any Directors/owners actually got the 12 month visa recently?

My lawyers charge more for the 12 month paperwork than the 3 month paperwork, so I want to make sure I'm not paying extra for nothing.

I agree but it looks like not all companies employing foreigners can do it...

That's very interesting Chay Kyme...I will check again with the resort owner if there is any options with the Labour Dept .

Labour Dept can choose not to enforce the 4:1 ratio for certain business like Scuba Diving, however immigration still requires 4:1 for 1 year extension, so many are left with visa runs as the only option

I pay 0 bath tax in Thailand since my salary comes from Sweden. However Sweden and Thailand has a law from 1988 regarding not have to have double taxations and that means one only have to pay tax in either country 😁

, I know that Kota Bharu is the easiest now for non-ed visas. No queues, no questions, no farangs at the border in Sungai Kolok... But not sure about other types of visas though. Thank you!

I’ve only seen the announcements from the agents in Penang, I haven’t seen an official Consulate statement with minimum % requirements

are you sure about the shareholder thing?

I read owners or managing directors of companies. And while an owner is definitely a shareholder, i don't think it works for everyone

Why can't you get it inside Thailand at immigration?

A non B should be available yearly at immigration. 1900 baht plus 3800 for multiple re-entry permit.

it makes total expences much higher. if going v-runs every 3month (or business trips which i do frequently anyway) it saves your company running expenses
