TLDR : Answer Summary
After obtaining a three-month NON-B visa and applying for a work permit, you can apply for a one-year extension of stay at the immigration office. Ensure you have documentation from your employer ready. It may also be beneficial to purchase a multiple re-entry permit once you obtain the extension. Remember, if you're a director/shareholder with at least 20% shares, you can also apply through the consulate in Penang.

I would say you have a far better chance of getting a one year extension of stay at the immigration office with documentation from your employer and after you get it buying a multiple re-entry permit.

Can’t you just go to local immigration with work permit and work documents and 1900 baht?

Yes, but than you apply for an Extension of Stay based on working. It is not the same as a 1 year Non B Visa.

The only consulate in the area is Penang, but you can only apply if you're director/share holder with minimum 20 % of shares. You can with all company papers 30 days before your last day of Admitted to Stay apply at local Immigration office for a 1 year Extension of Stay, if granted that apply for the re-entry permit so you can even travel and keep the Extension alive.
