TLDR : Answer Summary
The main options for obtaining a 1-year business visa (Non-B) involve applying through the Thai Consulates in Penang and Kota Bharu, Malaysia. To qualify, you typically need to be a managing director, hold 20% of the company's stock, and possess the required paperwork. Alternatively, expats can apply for a 1-year Extension of Stay based on employment at their local Immigration Office, which can eliminate the need for frequent border runs.

No, you can also visit the Immigration Office in your area and apply for the 1 year Extension of Stay based on employment and when stamped in your passport, apply for the Multiple Re-Entry Permit. BIg benefit is that no more visa/border runs are needed. You need to report every 90 days at Immigration, first time in person after that can do on-line,

Extension of Stay cost 1.900 Thb, Re-Entry Permit 3.800 Thb, total cost of 5.700 Thb, much cheaper than travel abroad apply for a 1 year visa, and travel again every 90 days.

Always open to other options. But in essence that's exactly what I thought.

I'll give you the same answer I posted on BANGKOK EXPATS when you asked the question there ;)

The ONLY option that I know of in the area is the thai consulate in Penang Malaysia or the one in Kota Bharu Malaysia. To get the year-long, multi-entry Non-B from them you need to be listed as a managing director on the paperwork for the company (and at least as a director on your work permit) AND you need to hold 20% of the stock in your name in addition to the rest of the required paperwork.

Without those things you can't get anything but a 90 day single entry from them AND unless I'm wrong all you can get from the rest of the consulates nearby is a 90 day single entry Non-B..

You mean a one year multiple entry visa based on having a business? I believe the only two consulates that sell them are Penang and Kota Bharu. You are a business owner, right?

Look at the Thai Consulate requirements for the visa.
