Anyone been to Savannakhet recently for a marriage based visa? Does the consulate there still do these type of visa? Any specific entry requirements for Laos? Take it a Thai pass is required for coming back in. Would be great to hear if anyone has done this recently and any advise. T.I.A

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Thai consulate in Savannakhet, Laos, is still issuing year-long, multi-entry Non-O visas based on marriage, similar to previous procedures. Requirements include an original and copies of various documents, a filled application form, and a handwritten letter from your Thai spouse. You must also have an approved Thai Pass for re-entering Thailand. Applications are accepted between 9-11 AM, with pick-up the next working day between 2-4 PM.

Can i ask you were it states 12 months for the Non O based on marriage? I have searched the website and i can only see a single entry for 90 days at 2000 baht.
it's NEVER stated on their website that they offer a year-long multi entry Non-O based on marriage ๐ฎ
you WRITE on the top of the application form like this

I thought before you had the option to tick a box for either single or multiple entry and paid accordingly. Has anyone been there and completed this recently to confirm its good to go?
You HAND write one year multiple entry and you hand them 5000baht when you turn in your paperwork so they KNOW you're not wanting a single entry 2000baht visa

You need to have
-original rose bordered marriage certificate (if you were married in thailand)
COPIES OF
- ft/back of it (signed by you and your thai wife)
- ft/back of your thai wife's thai i/d card (signed by her)
- thai wife's house book listing (signed by her)
- data page of your passport (signed by you)
- your lao visa & entry stamp (signed by you)
filled out Savannakhet specific application for visa with passport sized photo on it
Hand written letter addressed to the thai consulate in Savannakhet by your thai wife (in english or thai) asking they issue you a year long multi-entry Non-O visa ( just a short letter stating your name, DOB, passport, married on xx date to her name, DOB, thai i/d, and requesting you be issued a year-multi-Non-O visa based on marriage
Those things and 5000baht should get the visa for you
You turn in the paperwork between 9-11am one day and pick it up between 2-4pm the afternoon of the following working day.

Thanks for all the replies, in a nutshell the consulate is open and possible to get the visa I need. Also need a Thai pass to re-enter Thailand.
nope, you're confusing getting a visa extension INSIDE the country at the immigration office with getting visa OUTSIDE the country from a thai consulate.
Savannakhet accepted foreign marriage certificates before without certification
Thnks Todd. I'm getting my wife a UK Visa (hopefully) this trip but when I return in November this will be my plan, I was going to ask in advance for the current requirements and here they are. ๐

The Thai consulate in Savannakhet Lao is issuing year-long, multi-entry, Non-O visas based on marriage to a thai just like they used to with the same document requirements as before and without the proof of funds just like before as well.
You DO need an approved thai pass to get back in to thailand for that border crossing.
