Hello All,

I have a couple of questions regarding a Non O Visa for Guardianship of a Thai Minor (My Son).

1) Is there anyway to get a 1 year Multiple Entry right away or must it be a 90 day single entry 1st and then later upgraded to a 1 year Multiple?

2) If I do an E Visa application for this does the visa start from the day it's granted to you or the day you enter Thailand with it?

3) Does anyone know what documents are required for number 5 in the picture below?

Thanks in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the process of obtaining a Non-O Visa for guardianship over a Thai minor, specifically addressing whether a one-year multiple entry visa can be obtained immediately or if a 90-day single-entry visa is required first. It also inquires about the validity start date of the visa and the necessary documents for application. Key responses indicate that a one-year multiple entry visa cannot be obtained directly online, requiring applicants to visit specific Thai consulates. Additionally, the visa's validity begins from issuance, and for documentation, a letter confirming parental guardianship is necessary.

No there's no way to get a one year multiple entry VISA once you get the 90 day single entry

You would come here get stamped in for 90 days, have the legal parental rights decree enter granted by the family court here OR the local city hall (if the child is old enough) bank 400K baht in a thai bank account and apply for a year "extension of stay" at the imimgration office.

a single entry 90 day Non-O visa is valid for 3 months from the date you get it issued, so you have 3 months to ENTER thailand on it and when you do you will get stamped in for 90 days

It is a letter YOU write stating you are the parent of a thai child and want to get a Non-O visa issued based on that

@Tod ********
thanks for the info.

I have had a Non O for 3 years but didn't renew it this year due to working offshore. I am freelance offshore and I have no idea of my schedule so it's very problematic for doing renewals each year of the multiple entry one and also if now like I have to restart the process and take 90 days off work before upgrading to a multiple entry one.

It would be easier to get DTV perhaps with a Muay Thai course booking. Do you know of anyone doing that and if so how many months of Muay Thai must one

commit to?

@Ben *****
you need to talk to some muay thai schools and see what their programs are for DTV support

using the eVisa website in your country before you come here there is NO way to get anything other than a single entry 90 day Non-O visa

If you want a year-long, multi-entry Non-O visa you need to go to the thai consulate in HCMC Vietnam and apply for it.

They are one of the few consulates left that will issue that visa for that reason and I would wager if/when they go on the eVisa online system that will stop like it has for all the other thai consulates using eVisa system

this is a good post about how to get that visa at the HCMC consulate
