I obtained my Non-immigrant O - single entry โ married to Thai Wife Visa from the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Los Angeles. I arrived on December 6, 2023 and got a valid until March 4, 2024 Entry Stamp at Chaing Mai Airport for a 90 days stay. Its Feb 5, 2024 today and my flight out is on May 30 2024. That is 115 days from now. Can I simply do a tm7 for another 90 days on May 30th โ 90 days = March 1, 2024 ? Or do I have to apply in Chaing Mai for a new Non-immigrant O - single entry โ married to Thai Wife visa on March 1, 2024 or METV? An Metv would give me more time but have never done one while in Thailand. All actions seem a bit to close to initiated on March 1, 2024 with my current visa expiring on March 4th. TIA

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual, holding a Non-immigrant O - single entry visa, inquired about options for extending their stay in Thailand, given they plan to leave on May 30, 2024. Responses clarified that a 90-day extension is not available for their current visa, and they cannot apply for a new Non-immigrant O visa within Thailand once entered on that visa type. The best options provided include applying for a one-year extension based on marriage, applying for a one-time 60-day visit extension without proof of funds, or exiting and re-entering Thailand for a fresh 30-day visa exemption stamp.

- thanks for confirming my confusion. I have no real experience working with immigration except for the tm7 extensions in the past I've done so hoped the blank line for extension period might allow 90 days. The METV was in hope that immigration services might be similar to consular service so again thanks for the clarification. Ill try the 60 day extension and after that exit/ re-enter on exemption stamp. As always - the right answers always come from you two quite often. You patience is appreciated
, this is general information for 60 days visit family extension. Detailed requirements may different at your local office, still you may be able to get rough idea.
unfortunately, unless you apply for a 1-year extension based on marriage to a Thai, there are not many options you have. no 90-day extension is available for non-o entry. or you cannot apply for a new in-country non-o visa when you already enter on Non-o visa from the Thai consulate.
you can apply for a 60-day visit Thai family extension. 60-days extension would be start on the day of application, not being added, at many offices. you can stay until 2 May at the max in your case. then you need to do border-bounce for a new 30 days visa-exempt entry.
METV is only available when you apply for it in your passport country, not in Thailand, not any other country in SEA.
