Hi all. Currently in Hua Hin, about to go to uk for a few weeks to visit family etc. my 90 reporting is due while i am away. Do i still go to immigration (usually in bluport) as soon as possible on return or is the clock reset and I report in 90 days after I have re entered Thailand ? Do immigration at the airport indicate the 90 days report date ?? Thanks in advance . Ps I am pretty sure the clock is reset but one or two people have casted doubt in my mind.

TLDR : Answer Summary
When traveling abroad, if your 90-day reporting is due while you are out of the country, the 90-day count resets upon your return to Thailand. You do not need to report while you are away; your next report will be due 89 days after re-entering Thailand. It's advisable to check with the immigration office upon your return, as some offices may require a new TM30 notification.

I think you may need to contact the office to get permit prior to travel which when you return your visa is unaffected

thanks for that. I have never obtained a permit before ( I have a multi entry visa - extension if that is what you are referring to) but I will ask before I go.

I took a normal retired visa and the got the re-entry stamp before I left. No need for a multiple entry visa, only question of money. This is for Swiss.

thanks for that. I chose the multiple entry because I will probably do quite a bit of travelling to neighbouring countries ( when possible) as well as visiting family in the uk.

when you get a yearly extension it's sold with NO re-entry ๐Ÿ˜ฎ (that's because you're already here) you need to make sure you BOUGHT a re-entry permit after you got your extension. It will be a different stamp than the extension and clearly say "re-entry permit" on it with a date it's valid until

Also; they don't sell multi-entry VISAS inside thailand ๐Ÿ˜•

I will explain a little better. I obtained a multiple entry O-A visa in the uk. When that ran out I obtained a years extension and paid 3,800 baht to make it multiple entry. Hope this clarifies

@Mel *******
right, so you DO have a year extension (which is one stamp and then another stamp that is the multiple re-entry permit ๐Ÿ™‚

The stamps would look like this red box yearly extension, orange box re-entry permit

yes if thatโ€™s the correct terminology. I am still learning. Lol.

if you are out of the country when your 90 day report is due that's fine.

When you come back the 90 day count down clock starts over.

Your next 90 day report is due 89 days from the date you stamp back into the country.

OFF TOPIC

Check with your office once you're back though about having to file a new TM30 <-notification of foreigner in residence

Many offices require that be re-filed when you return from abroad even if you are returning to the same address
