Hello, a Master's student here in Thailand. I recently flew to my home country for a bit and re-entered Thailand on 11 December. Does this mean my new date of next notification will be 2 March 2024? And since I've never did the 90-day report before, does this mean I will have to go to the immigration office in-person to do it, regardless of my recent re-entry during the 90-day period and the restart of the 90-day countdown? Hope my questions are not confusing. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about the deadline for their first 90-day report due to recent re-entry into Thailand. It was clarified that, after leaving and re-entering on December 11, 2023, the report is due 89 days later, on March 9, 2024. The possibility of online reporting was discussed, along with the requirement for a TM30 notification, which varies by immigration office.

I believe that the OP has the answers needed for his question. It's BEST to Ask your local Thai Immigration office for their requirements for the TM 30 address registration filing.

okay we're getting WAY off track here on this

TM30 <-notification of foreigner in residence enforcement varies by OFFICE, (sometimes even the person IN that office ๐Ÿ˜ฎ )

some require you to file a new TM30 every time you come in from abroad, some don't as long as you're returning to your primary residence where you have a TM30 previously filed

CHECK with your immigration office as far as what they enforce for TM30

So far never heard of any case in Bangkok in which the full penalty was applied. So far only heard about a 2000 baht fine.
James ********
@Pierre *******
that's the usual fine.

That is the normal penalty for not filing a 90 day report within 7 days of it being due. Unless they come and arrest you, then it increases to a 4,000 baht fine. The fine for overstaying is accumulative at 500 baht per day to a maximum of 20,000 baht.

On another note, you probably also have to file a TM30 since returning from abroad.

@Wannikea ********
Is that true if you are returning to the same address. Or is the determining factor that you left the country and are returning?๏ฟผ
Ellie *******
@Wayne *******
, that totally depends on the local immigration office. Check with them to see whatโ€™s โ€œtrueโ€ in your province.

okay if you hadn't left thailand after you got your extension your 90 day report would be due on the date on that small paper in your passport that you showed in the image

BUT

seeing as you DID leave and returned Dec 11, the 90 day report is actually due 89 days from the date you stamped in

AND

A quick google of that shows

Now whether you can or can't apply online for the first 90 day report is immigration office dependent.. Try applying online about the 26th of Feb (if you don't leave the country again) and see if it gets approved or rejected.. That will give you enough time if they don't approve it to go file in person
