TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about the due date for their 90-day report after returning to Thailand on December 29. The consensus from comments is that the report is due 89 days after the entry date, which would be on March 28, taking into consideration that the arrival day counts as day one. Additionally, it was highlighted that reports can be filed in person from 15 days before until 7 days after the due date, and it was recommended to also submit a TM30 form upon return.

Remember there's only 28 days in Feb

I count the days using timeanddate.com and get the date 89 days from my entry. In Thai immigration math 90=89.

ah yes i also forget it

Also, to be fully legal, send in a TM30 via registered mail by Wednesday (weekends and holidays don't count in the 24 hours). I came back on the same day as you and my TM30 is ready to go. I know everyone says they are not required yet but my condo had a raid a couple of months back so I will self report a TM30 every time I leave and return to Thailand. Or go in person on Wednesday if you hae that option.

Tony Bourgoin If someone else does it then a power of attorney with a tax stamp is required. If your wife owns your property she can file it. I have a lease so I am self filing. I am sending in a copy of my lease, which I signed every page, a copy of my passport ID page, stamp transfer page, current entry stamp and copy of TM6, of course every page signed and the completed TM30 from Bangkok immigration's website. Plus you need to include a self addresses stamped envelope with 10 baht postage applied to it.

TM30 download link:

And I will mail it by registered mail to (for Bangkok residents only):

My problem is I go to Bangkok frequently (a few times a month), and stay at a hotel room. Since I'm told they are strict here in Kanchanburi, to be better safe then sorry, I file it anyway. I have my wife made copies of all of her documents, and I just take one of the packet, fill out the new information, and drive over to drop it off.

Go Wednesday as that is the first business day after the holiday. Yes, they can fine you if you go Thursday. Most likely they will fine you 800 baht.

by the way guys , i will do it by thursday as immigration will be close. will i get a fine and how much is it if you not report it and get caught?

Tony Bourgoin Being married to a Thai gets you almost no benefits here. The only one is less money in a bank account for an extension of stay. Or the newish "expedited" process if you want to apply for Thai citizenship.

this is crazy but it’s the law 😞 I hope they getting smoother with people who are maried with Thai citizen. It piss me off to do already the same over and over for the mariage visa but nothing we can do and take it .

The hotel reports your stay (most likely via the web portal). Yes, some offices are anal about it and require it when they know you stayed in another location. Bangkok is just starting to lightly enforce it and we only need to do it when we leave the country and return. Having to do when every time you stay at a hotel somewhere would be a real pain. Bad enough I need to go the immigration or the post office every time I come back now within 24 hours (not counting weekends and holidays).

What I understand we should do is any time we stay at a hotel, we should go and do a TM30 as soon as we get home. I live with my wife, in the house she owns. She hates that I have to go to immigration to drop off the TM30 frequently. But I'm also told it's strict here in Kanchanburi.

thank you again ! getting scary ....

Many people were fined. For some reason the immigration agents looked at me and did not stop me when leaving the condo. After that the condo put up a notice that the TM30 is required within 24 hours of residence. Which Thai immigration counts as every time we enter the country. Some offices are requiring it if you stay over night in another province. So far Bangkok office not requiring for most services but I prefer to stay ahead of the enforcement curve.

It is an old law that is just recently being phased in due to the new head of immigration, Big Joke (what the Thai press calls him).

ouah this is so strict. really appreciate your feedback

Yes. I am also. It has nothing to do with the TM30 report of foreigner residence that is required every time we enter Thailand. The landlord is supposed to do it but mine is not reliable so I will do it myself.

Your 90 day report is due actually 89 days from the date you stamped back into the country (they count the day you stamp in and day ONE).

Remember you can report in person from 15 days before down until 7 days after your due date. You can report online from 15 days before down until 7 days BEFORE your due date.

The way that the 90 day reporting works IS

IF you're in the country on the 90th day you are obligated to report, period end of story

Nothing will happen to you if you fly out without reporting because the officers at passport control don't care if you've EVER filed a 90 day report because it's not their job. They just stamp you in and out of the country

NOW when you come back and go to do your next 90 day report there is a GOOD chance that the immigration officer WILL see that you missed your previous 90 day report and flew out AFTER it was due and fine you the 2000baht for failure to report.

OR you might get one that doesn't notice (unlikely) and they will not fine you and you can do your next 90 day report without issue.

Seeing as you can go 15 days before your 90 day report is due (IF it was my 90 day report) I'd go do it just to stay on the right side of the rules (but I'm quirky that way). :O

Good Luck ....

Count the actual number of days. Your day of arrival is day #1
David ************
I believe it would be 28 March. 29 Dec counts as day 1.

You are allowed to report 15 days prior until 7 days after the 90th day if doing it in person at an immigration office.
