Hi,

Would you still need the companies to apply for work permit if you have Thai PR?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Even if you hold Thai Permanent Residency (PR), you are still required to have a work permit to be employed in Thailand. Your employer must apply for the work permit on your behalf.

Fairly sure you need to have been here for 3 years before you can apply for PR plus plenty of other hoops to jump through, and you still need a work permit.

I know that if you have a PR you can become the board of director of the company, but does this mean you don't need work permit?

I don’t think you need PR to be a director of private company

and when did you get permanent resident status granted?

if you like to work in Thailand your employer needs to apply for the Work Permit. You can not apply by yourself.
