Hello
I have a question about a work permit, I am aware of some jobs that are forbidden in Thailand to foreigners such as woodworking, pottery, architecture etc... My question is can they apply for a work permit on the grounds that they are a teacher in this field and only instructing students? If this is possible does anyone know what is involved for the individual or company?
TLDR : Answer Summary
The post seeks clarification on whether a foreigner can apply for a work permit in Thailand to teach in fields that are generally forbidden for foreigners, like woodworking or pottery. The discussion includes advice on consulting the Ministry of Labor regarding requirements to apply and mentions that it's possible to obtain a work permit as a teacher or consultant. There are also references to visa options, specifically the Non-O visa, related to personal circumstances such as marriage to a Thai national or having a Thai child.
