I am planning on taking an extended trip to thailand anywhere from 6-12 months. Thought it would be fun to have a part-time job maybe as a waiter or bartender as I am planning on staying in Phuket for a good majority of the trip. What's the best way to go about getting a work permit? Do I need to apply for the job while I am there then get the work permit? Or do I need to get the work permit first then find a job? Also if anyone has any great suggestions for travel/medical insurance that would be awesome as well. Thanks and Happy New Year!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on obtaining a work permit for part-time work in Thailand during an extended stay. Comments suggest that certain jobs are prohibited for foreigners and emphasize the importance of not working without a permit. Additionally, for a stay longer than 90 days without working, a multiple-entry visa is recommended to be obtained before traveling, although it is clarified that you cannot work on that visa.

yes get it before you go and depends on what nationality you are if you can get that visa.

If I'm trying to stay longer than 90 days without working then the multiple entry visa I'm assuming is the best option? Should I get that before I arrive or after?

I'm planning on staying in Phuket for about 4 months I can't do tourist things every single day so I'd like to try to find a part-time job to keep me busy and make some money while I'm on my trip.
