Morning All. I did my usual 90 days Where I don't have to go back again until 8 November but I'm not due to renew my non o extension of stay based on marriage until 21 November. Is this just a matter of doing everything at immigration before or on the 8th for another yearly visa? Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about managing their 90-day reporting and renewing their NON-O extension of stay based on marriage in Thailand. The conversation clarifies that the 90-day reporting is separate from the annual extension process, and both need to be done in compliance with immigration rules. Users advise that the 90-day report must be filed on its due date, and extensions can typically be applied for when 30 days or less remain on the current extension. It's noted that procedures may vary by immigration office.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: Each immigration office is different. The policies for Kanchanburi may not be the same for Chiang Mai.

Does it make sense? No. But, it is what it is.

okay, people let's get this sorted.

Getting a NEW yearly extension of stay has NOTHING to do with your 90 day reporting (if you've been doing it before) and a new extension doesn't reset the 90 day reporting. You still do it when the receipt tells you it's due.

Here's a fool proof way to know with 100% accuracy IF your 90 day reporting date was 'reset' when you got a new yearly extension

IF you DID get a new 90 day report receipt with a new 90 day report date 3 months out they did reset your 90 day reporting

BUT

IF you DIDN'T get a new 90 day report receipt and still have the old one in your passport they did NOT reset your 90 day reporting

Ok. Another thing. I usually do my 90 days at the Promenade in Chiang Mai so could I also apply for another yearly extension there? If anyone knows about this. Thanks

No, you can't

@Andrew *****
nope, you can't

You get the yearly extension at the main immigration office near the airport. AND you can do your 90 day report there too.

your 90 day report has nothing to do with when your next extension is due.

SO if you have a 90 day report due on Nov 8 you need to do that AND then apply for your yearly extension.

Most offices let you apply for a new extension when you have 30 days or less left on your stamp so you could do them BOTH at the same time you go file your 90 day report

@Andrew *****
, looks like you applied for that 90 day report on Aug 11 <- which is 89 days before your next due date of Nov 8.

90 day reporting and year extensions have nothing to do with one another at all. The dates don't coincide..

Which immigration office? Are you still using Chiang Mai?

The 90 day reports and the one year extension of stay are separate documents and may not be in synch.
