TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, the TM30 reporting is still necessary in Thailand. It requires foreigners to register their address with immigration within 24 hours of arrival. Failure to do so can result in fines. The law has not changed, and even if one forgets to report, they should expect to pay a fine upon registration.

Please, I know it is the most easy comment to make. Do not do it, nobody cares and yes I pay the fines. But if you are not willing to step up the plate, do not attempt to comment.

Thailand has laws, regulations and on this page we try to explain these and how to follow up on these laws, regulations.

But thanks for letting us know that all is allowed until you end up in jail or pay fines.

Of course it's necessary. Your address needs registered with immigration within 24 hours or you will be fined. So expect a fine when you register.

depends upon your local immigration office. Bangkok 1 and zburi Ram from my own experience do not require a new TM 30. Only when you move to a new permanent address.
Robert *******
Yes, the law did not change.

how does one do ™30 without TM6?
Robert *******
@Khun *****
You do not need permanent residence or apply for it using the TM9 Form.

You or landlord reports that you reside at that address within 24 hours of arrival

@Khun *****
that is not correct I just used the website and filed a TEST TM30 on my address here without a Tm30, it took the data fine and I was able to search it and bring up the info (for the screen print of proof it was done)

Here's the screen grab of the data saved with the TM6 field blank

@Khun *****
I guess you try to explain about the TM6 Departure card?

Not about the application for permanent residency TM9.

Talk to your local Immigration Office, i'm sure there is a way to report your guests.
