Hey. Went to MTT today as visa was expiring on Feb 27 and wanted to get in before the Jan 29 deadline. Got my under consideration done after a long wait thankfully but it is dated Feb 10. I was hoping that my extension would from my date of expiry but does this mean it will only be from my date of application?

Maybe should have gone somewhere else like Samui

Thanks in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about the date their visa extension is valid, questioning whether it starts from their original expiry date (February 27) or the application date (February 10) after visiting an immigration office. Community members provided insights suggesting that the process is standard, indicating that the user should return for the remainder of the extension, but clarified that it’s uncertain whether the extension would be for 30 or 60 days.

What you got today is normal.

Return as instructed

Get remainder of the extension.

Really do not know if its for 30 or 60 days.

What visa was expiring in February ?

My previous covid extension. I wrote I was applying for 60 days due to covid pandemic on multiple forms. I expected the under consideration to be in March if it was being extended from my date of expiration. Guess I'll have to wait and find out. Thank you

As a quick aside, did you get your last extension here, the same immigration office?

My previous under consideration experience was the same timewise. The trip out almost felt like a waste. Good to hear you got days added on top. Hoping for the same, thanks

Had exactly the same ... looks like we are invited for a new round of chair dancing the 10th of February

I was in and out of MTT in under 20 minutes when I completed my u/c stamp last week. Came away with 60 days on top of my existing stamp.

Yes. But before that I had to do a TM30 on the 2nd floor which was a day in itself
