Hi All, did my covid extension yesterday for my Tourist visa at Pattaya immigration (wouldnt recommend extending here - too busy, rude tourists and rude staff, unclear instrctions). Today my passport was returned with a stamp "Application under consideration. Applicant must contact this office again on Feb 1 2022".

Should I literary come back Feb 1? Or can I go before for the final extension?

My current visa expires on the 12 of Jan. What woud happen if I leave the country after the 12th of Jan and before Feb 1? Will that be considered as overstay?

Cheers!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user extended their Tourist visa in Pattaya and received a stamp stating 'Application under consideration. Applicant must contact this office again on Feb 1, 2022.' They inquired whether they must return precisely on that date or if they can go earlier, and what would happen if they left the country before that date. Responses indicated that they can leave the country before Feb 1 without overstaying, as the stamp allows for an extension of stay until that indicated date. However, it is advised to return on the date specified to avoid complications.

Hi, I need to extend my visa (just on the standard 30 day one at the moment), if this happens, do you have to go back to the same immigration office? I have 2 days in Bangkok and was thinking I would extend my visa on ones of these days (I still have 2 weeks until visa runs out) but I plan on moving straight on down south. Would I have to come back to Bangkok if it was under consideration?

>Applicant must contact this office again on Feb 1 2022".

An "Under Consideration" stamp is a "temporary" extension of stay, and you can stay up to the "under consideration" stamp. When you return to the immigration office, you will get the balance of the time stamped in.

I have not heard of anyone being rejected for a 60 day extension of stay during the "under consideration" period.

You’ll be fine if you leave before, the under consideration stamp allows you to stay at least until the date on that stamp. As for when to go back, you could try and go earlier but they may not have finished processing your application so it may be a waste of time. Better to go back on the day on the stamp.
