Hi,

Just back from a busier than expected Chiang Mai office with the intension of applying for a Covid-19 extension. My permission to stay stamp expires Feb 27th. So going today seemed a good time to apply. All forms correctly completed and accepted. However, i was told that my application for the Covid-19 extension was under consideration and i should return to immigration on March 10th to be told if the extension would be granted.(the March 10 is stamped in my passport) They took my 1,900 baht and explained if i was refused i would forfeit this fee. I'm now concerned. Should i be?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is applying for a Covid-19 extension in Chiang Mai, with their stay expiring on February 27th. After submitting their application, they received a stamp indicating that their application is under consideration until March 10th. They are concerned about the possibility of rejection and whether their application fee would be forfeited. Comments from the community reassure the user that it is normal for applications to be marked as under consideration and that no rejections for this extension have been reported.

I’m closing comments. Different immigration offices do have different policies when it comes to these extension of stays. However, I never heard of anyone being rejected for this extension of stay before.

Ask your local immigration office what their policy is for getting an under consideration stamp for this extension

Like he said ^^^

Every application goes under consideration 1st, then you go back and get your stamp.

No, completely normal. I heard of nobody getting rejected for this extension when they have an under consideration stamp
