Hello everyone, good advice is very welcome. TR60 Visa since October 2021 with 5 Covid extension.
I would like to extend my stay to travel a little further around Thailand with my Thai GF. We are planning a short trip to Vietnam at the end of the month, would spend a day or two there and then fly back via DMK. Iโm gambling with a 45 days stamp.
Is the whole project a promising campaign? I haven't done any other visas or border runs yet.
Side notice: Iโm still having my return flight as a backup, but this one starts from BKKโฆ I guess there is also risk involved to get denied entry at all?
Or is it also worth the extra effort to apply for a new TR visa in Vietnam?
Many thanks ๐

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently on a TR60 Visa, which has been extended multiple times, and is planning a trip to Vietnam while contemplating whether to perform a border run to avoid risks of entry denial back into Thailand. Community members advise against flying back into Bangkok due to the user's visa history and recommend using land border crossings to Laos instead for better chances of securing a new entry stamp into Thailand.
You run a super high risk of being questioned and/or denied flying back in with that sort of stay history in your passport.
Fly in to any airport OTHER than the two in Bangkok and you have a better chance. There are direct flights from Vietnam to Chiang Mai, then you could take a domestic flight down to bangkok after you're IN the country.
I wouldn't risk flying in to either DMK or BKK with the stay history you have in your passport even if I had a valid tourist visa in my passport it would be too much of a risk,
Face it you've been here a YEAR and you're going out of the country for two days and comin' right back. ๐Passport control will know you did it just to get a new entry stamp.
Good luck with it (y)
